Service Description

Level: All levels welcome; regressions and progressions will be provided. Provided Gear: Yoga mats, Yoga blocks, Loop resistance bands Optional Gear: Foam roller, Towel, Resistance/TheraBand, Lacrosse or tennis ball This workshop focuses specifically on mobility and conditioning for the hips and splits. Participants can expect a combination of passive stretches and a strong emphasis on active mobility exercises, along with resistance band work. The class will concentrate on end-range conditioning and mobility, emphasizing strength development in flexibility poses rather than holding passive stretches. Passive flexibility depends on external forces (such as gravity) to achieve a range of motion, while functional mobility involves actively controlling and utilizing one’s range of motion without external assistance. This approach enhances the ability to hold pole poses, strengthens joints, and reduces the risk of injury. Class is held next door in the Floorplay Dance Center for 75 minutes
